About the Research School
Representation Theory of Lie algebras and Group Theory will be the topics of the Research School
                                 Algebraic Representation Theory 2015.

Recent research trends including :
  • interactions between finite groups and infinite dimensional Lie algebras,
  • connections between quantum groups and knot theory
will be at the hearth of the research school.

The basic material will be provided in 6 mini-courses, and 14 one-hour advanced lectures will provide
related and more advanced materials.  All mini-courses and talks will be in English, but some of the mini-course lecturers fluently speak Portuguese, French and German.

Topics
  • Finite groups, representation theory and combinatorial structures
  • Kac-Moody algebras, vertex operators and applications
  • Modular representations of  the Symmetric group.
  • Representation Theory of Lie Algebras
  • An introduction to topologizing filters on rings
  • Symmetries on groups and Ramsey theory
